About Us

The B&B Theatre Company is a youth run theatre group, founded and run by five teenagers living within Lowestoft.

After leaving high school, we wanted to continue to develop our skills within acting and within the arts and found that there were many other young people who had a passion for acting, singing and dancing as well, but maybe were not fortunate enough to be able to attend an organisation due to costings.

So we decided to set up 'The B&B Theatre Company' which intends to provide somewhere for young people to go, be part of and achieve and learn something within the community for free. It means that young people can feel safe, warm and welcomed within our organisation, make new friends and express their talent through the arts by working with us and developing social skills with other young people.

We applied for funding ourselves through 'Suffolk Youth Opportunity Fund', and along with the help from Directors, Ex-Actors & Contacts we have, step-by-step put together an organisation that we proudly put our names to and are happy to be involved with on a regular basis.

All of the founders are keen actors, actresses or behind the scenes workers so are all deeply passionate about the arts and the projects we intend to do. We saw the opportunity to involve other young people, like ourselves, in the arts and give them the opportunity to express themselves in a safe and secure environment, whilst producing something positive, which can be seen as an achievement of the work and time that has been put into it.

We feel it is vital that every member or participant of the theatre group is treated equally, fairly and not discriminated against in any way, shape or form. With this in mind we intend on embarking upon any new production or challenge we are given as a team along with any new members that we may gain along the way.
